SAFE

The Foundation for Safer Athletic Fields for Everyone (SAFE) is the charity of SFMA. SAFE was founded in 2000 to fund research, educational programs and scholarships geared to the sports field profession. As a 501 c3 non-profit foundation, donations are tax deductible as allowable by law.

SAFE’s History

The Foundation for Safer Athletic Fields for Everyone (SAFE) was created in December of 2000 to provide research, educational programs and scholarships geared to the sports field profession.

SAFE is the charitable arm of the nation’s only association for the sports field management industry – the Sports Field Management Association (SFMA). SFMA is the not-for-profit, professional association for the men and women who manage sports fields.

SAFE believes that it has a fundamental responsibility to facilitate safe and environmentally friendly sports and recreational fields for athletes of all ages and ability. Its Board of Trustees recognizes this potential and has shifted from an internal organization to an externally focused organization.
